Schizophrenia where other antipsychotics have been ineffective or poorly tolerated.

Kloza 50mg Tab (Clozapine) is an atypical antipsychotic that works by blocking dopamine and serotonin receptors in the brain. This helps to reduce the positive symptoms (such as hallucinations and delusions) and negative symptoms (such as flat affect and social withdrawal) of schizophrenia.

Store at room temperature, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children. Discard any unused medication as directed by your pharmacist.

Dosage is determined by your doctor and adjusted based on your individual response and tolerance.

It is usually started at a low dose and gradually increased.

It is typically taken orally, as a tablet.

Dosage may vary from 12.5 mg to 900 mg per day or more, divided into two or more doses.

Orthostatic hypotension (low blood pressure upon standing)

Agranulocytosis (a serious decrease in white blood cells requiring regular blood monitoring)

Sedation or drowsiness

Dizziness

Weight gain

Increased appetite

Constipation

Dry mouth

Blurred vision

Seizures (rare but possible)

Myocarditis (inflammation of the heart muscle)

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol should be avoided or severely limited as it can increase the sedative effects of clozapine.



While Driving or operating Machinery

Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how clozapine affects you, as it can cause drowsiness and dizziness.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Clozapine should only be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding if the benefits outweigh the risks. Discuss this with your doctor.



Children

Clozapine is not typically used in children.



Kidney

Dose adjustment may be necessary for patients with kidney impairment.



Liver

Dose adjustment may be necessary for patients with liver impairment.
