Without ergosterol, the fungal cell membrane becomes damaged, leading to cell death and preventing the fungus from spreading.
Store clotrimazole at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
The dosage of clotrimazole will vary depending on the type of infection being treated and the form of the medication (cream, lotion, tablet, etc.).

Do not use more or less of the medication than prescribed, and do not use it for longer than recommended.

If you are using vaginal tablets or cream, insert one tablet or applicatorful of cream into the vagina as directed.
