Joykem Odt 300mg Tab (Amisulpride) works by blocking dopamine receptors in the brain. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter that plays a role in mood, emotions, and thinking. By blocking dopamine receptors, amisulpride helps to reduce symptoms of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.
Store amisulpride at room temperature, away from light and moisture. Keep it out of reach of children and pets.
The dosage of amisulpride will be determined by your doctor based on your individual needs and medical history.
It is typically taken by mouth, once or twice daily, with or without food.
Follow your doctor's instructions carefully and do not change your dosage without consulting them.
Serious side effects are rare but can occur. These include:
Common side effects include dizziness, headache, nausea, constipation, and drowsiness.
Extrapyramidal symptoms (involuntary movements)
Neuroleptic malignant syndrome (a life-threatening condition characterized by high fever, muscle rigidity, and altered mental status)
Increased prolactin levels, which can cause breast enlargement and milk production in women and men.
Avoid alcohol while taking amisulpride as it can increase the risk of side effects.
Amisulpride can cause dizziness and drowsiness. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you.
Talk to your doctor about the risks and benefits of taking amisulpride during pregnancy and breastfeeding. It is not recommended during breastfeeding.
Amisulpride is not approved for use in children.
If you have kidney problems, your doctor may need to adjust your dose of amisulpride.
