Amisulpride is the active ingredient in this medication.It is an atypical antipsychotic medication.
Treatment of schizophrenia, including negative and positive symptoms.
Treatment of depressive episodes in patients with bipolar disorder.
Joykem 50mg Tab (Amisulpride) works by blocking the action of dopamine, a neurotransmitter in the brain. It primarily targets dopamine receptors in the mesolimbic pathway, which is thought to be involved in the symptoms of schizophrenia.
Store at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Keep out of reach of children.
Dosage is determined by your doctor based on your individual needs and response to treatment.
It is typically taken once daily, with or without food.
Do not stop taking amisulpride abruptly without consulting your doctor.
Missed dose: Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it's close to the time of your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule.
Serious side effects may include: high fever, muscle rigidity, altered mental state (neuroleptic malignant syndrome), irregular heartbeat, seizures, and blood clots.
Common side effects include: drowsiness, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, constipation, nausea, vomiting, weight gain, restlessness, and muscle stiffness.
Avoid alcohol consumption while taking amisulpride as it can increase the risk of side effects.
Amisulpride may cause drowsiness and dizziness. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you.
Amisulpride is not recommended for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless the potential benefits outweigh the risks. Consult with your doctor.
Amisulpride is not approved for use in children.
Caution is advised in patients with kidney disease. Your doctor may adjust the dosage.
