To improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes who are not adequately controlled with diet and exercise alone

May be used in combination with other diabetes medications

Metformin is a biguanide that works by reducing glucose production by the liver and improving the body's sensitivity to insulin. Vildagliptin is a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor that increases the levels of incretin hormones, which stimulate insulin release and decrease glucagon secretion.

Store at room temperature, away from heat and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.

The dosage is usually started low and gradually increased as needed

Taken by mouth with a meal, usually once or twice a day

Follow your doctor's instructions carefully

Do not stop taking this medication without talking to your doctor

Gastrointestinal upset (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea)

Low blood sugar (hypoglycemia)

Skin rash

Headache

Joint pain

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol may increase the risk of lactic acidosis, so it is important to limit alcohol intake while taking this medication



While Driving or operating Machinery

May cause dizziness or lightheadedness, so caution is advised while driving or operating machinery



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

This medication is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women



Children

Not recommended for children



Kidney

This medication can be harmful to the kidneys, so it is important to have regular kidney function tests



Liver

This medication can be harmful to the liver, so it is important to have regular liver function tests
