Ketoconazole

Ketoconazole is the active ingredient in this medication.It is an antifungal medication that belongs to the imidazole class of drugs.The specific formulation of ketoconazole may contain additional inactive ingredients, which are listed on the product label.

Fungal infections of the skin, such as tinea corporis (ringworm), tinea cruris (jock itch), tinea pedis (athlete's foot), and pityriasis versicolor.

Fungal infections of the scalp, such as tinea capitis.

Fungal infections of the nails, such as onychomycosis.

Yeast infections of the mouth and throat, such as oral thrush (candidiasis).

Vaginal yeast infections, such as vulvovaginal candidiasis.

Iraz Shampoo 100ml (Ketoconazole) works by inhibiting the growth of fungi. It does this by interfering with the production of ergosterol, a vital component of fungal cell membranes. This disruption leads to the death of fungal cells.

Store ketoconazole at room temperature, between 15°C and 30°C (59°F and 86°F).

The dosage of ketoconazole will vary depending on the type of infection being treated, the severity of the infection, and the patient's age and overall health.

Follow your doctor's instructions carefully. Do not take more or less ketoconazole than prescribed.

Ketoconazole can be taken orally or applied topically, depending on the type of infection.

For oral ketoconazole, take the medication with a full glass of water, usually with a meal.

For topical ketoconazole, apply the cream, lotion, or shampoo directly to the affected area as directed by your doctor.

Alcohol Consumption

Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

It is generally not recommended to take ketoconazole during pregnancy, as it may harm the developing fetus. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.



Children

Ketoconazole is not recommended for children under 12 years old unless specifically prescribed by a doctor.



Kidney

People with kidney disease should use ketoconazole with caution, as it can build up in the body and lead to side effects.



Liver

People with liver disease should avoid ketoconazole, as it can further damage the liver.
