Ipratropium bromide is an anticholinergic bronchodilator.It works by blocking the action of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter that causes bronchoconstriction (narrowing of the airways).
Maintenance treatment of bronchospasm associated with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), including chronic bronchitis and emphysema.
Prevention of bronchospasm in patients with reversible obstructive airway disease.
Treatment of acute bronchospasm (in combination with other medications).
Ipravent Inhaler (Ipratropium Bromide) is an anticholinergic agent. It works by competitively antagonizing the action of acetylcholine at muscarinic receptors in the airways. This leads to relaxation of the bronchial smooth muscle, resulting in bronchodilation and improved airflow.
Store at room temperature, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Do not freeze. Discard any unused medication after the expiration date.
