Minoxidil: A topical medication that helps to regrow hair by stimulating hair follicles.

Finasteride: An oral medication that blocks the production of a hormone called dihydrotestosterone (DHT), which is a major contributor to hair loss.

Male pattern hair loss (androgenetic alopecia)

May be used offlabel for other types of hair loss, but effectiveness is not well-established.

The combination of minoxidil and finasteride works by targeting different aspects of hair loss. Minoxidil directly stimulates hair follicle growth, while finasteride inhibits the production of DHT, a hormone that shrinks hair follicles and contributes to hair loss.

Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.

Minoxidil: Apply a measured amount to the scalp twice daily.

Finasteride: Take one tablet daily, with or without food.

Minoxidil: Scalp irritation, dryness, flaking, itching, unwanted hair growth in other areas, dizziness, rapid heartbeat.

Finasteride: Decreased libido, erectile dysfunction, ejaculation problems, breast tenderness, breast enlargement.

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol may interact with finasteride, increasing the risk of side effects.



While Driving or operating Machinery

Minoxidil may cause dizziness, so caution is advised.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Finasteride is not safe for pregnant women. Minoxidil should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding.



Children

This medication is not approved for use in children.

Kidney disease may affect how your body processes finasteride.



Liver

Liver disease may affect how your body processes minoxidil.
