Tigecycline is a type of antibiotic called a glycylcycline.It belongs to a class of drugs called tetracyclines.Tigecycline is available as a powder for intravenous injection.

Tigecycline is used to treat serious bacterial infections in adults.
Complicated skin and skin structure infections (cSSSI)
Complicated intra-abdominal infections (cIAI)
Community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) in patients who cannot receive other antibiotics.
Het Tg 50mg Inj (Tigecycline) works by preventing bacteria from making proteins they need to survive. This stops the bacteria from growing and spreading in the body.
Tigecycline should be stored at room temperature, between 15°C and 30°C (59°F and 86°F). Keep it away from direct sunlight and moisture.
The dosage of tigecycline will vary depending on the type of infection being treated and the patient's individual needs.
It is usually given by intravenous injection over 30 minutes.
The usual dose is 100 mg every 12 hours.
It is important to follow your doctor's instructions carefully.
The most common side effects of tigecycline are nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.
More serious side effects can occur, including:
Liver problems
Allergic reactions
Clostridium difficile infection (a serious gut infection)
Avoid alcohol while taking tigecycline. It can increase the risk of liver problems.
Tigecycline can cause dizziness. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medicine affects you.
Tigecycline should only be used during pregnancy if the potential benefits outweigh the risks to the baby. It is unknown if tigecycline passes into breast milk. Talk to your doctor about the risks and benefits of taking tigecycline while breastfeeding.
Tigecycline is not approved for use in children.
Tigecycline should be used with caution in people with kidney problems.
