Telmisartan: An angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that helps relax blood vessels.

Amlodipine: A calcium channel blocker that also helps relax blood vessels and lower heart rate.

Hydrochlorothiazide: A thiazide diuretic (water pill) that helps your body get rid of excess salt and water.

Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure) in patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with telmisartan and amlodipine alone.

May be used as initial therapy in patients likely to require multiple antihypertensive medications

This combination medication works through three distinct mechanisms to lower blood pressure. Telmisartan blocks the effects of angiotensin II, a hormone that narrows blood vessels. Amlodipine relaxes blood vessels by reducing the flow of calcium into the cells of blood vessel walls. Hydrochlorothiazide increases the excretion of sodium and water from the body, thereby reducing blood volume and pressure.

Store at room temperature away from moisture and heat. Keep out of reach of children.

Typically taken once daily, usually in the morning, with or without food.

Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet; swallow it whole.

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol may increase the risk of dizziness and lightheadedness. Limit alcohol intake.



While Driving or operating Machinery

May cause dizziness or lightheadedness. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Consult your doctor immediately if you become pregnant or are breastfeeding.



Children

Safety and efficacy in children have not been established.



Kidney

Use with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dosage adjustments may be necessary.
