Imatinib Mesylate

Imatinib mesylate is the active ingredient in the medication.It belongs to a class of drugs called tyrosine kinase inhibitors.

Imatumor 400mg Tablet (Imatinib Mesylate) works by blocking the activity of a specific protein called BCR-ABL tyrosine kinase. This protein is abnormally active in CML and Ph+ ALL, and it helps cancer cells grow and spread. By blocking this protein, imatinib mesylate helps to slow down or stop the growth of cancer cells.

Store imatinib mesylate at room temperature, between 20°C and 25°C (68°F and 77°F). Keep it in its original container, tightly closed, and away from light and moisture.

The dosage of imatinib mesylate will be determined by your doctor based on your individual needs and medical condition.

It is typically taken orally, once daily with or without food.

It is important to take imatinib mesylate exactly as prescribed by your doctor and to complete the full course of treatment, even if you feel better.

Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Imatinib mesylate can harm an unborn baby. It is not recommended for pregnant women. It is also not recommended for breastfeeding mothers as it can pass into breast milk.



Children

Imatinib mesylate is used in children with certain types of leukemia, but it is not safe for all children. Your doctor will carefully consider the risks and benefits of treatment for your child.



Kidney

Imatinib mesylate is primarily eliminated from the body through the kidneys. If you have kidney problems, your doctor may need to adjust your dose.



Liver

Imatinib mesylate can also affect the liver. Your doctor may monitor your liver function during treatment.
