Metformin

A biguanide oral antidiabetic drug that helps lower blood sugar levels by improving insulin sensitivity and decreasing glucose production by the liver.

Voglibose

An alpha-glucosidase inhibitor that slows down the breakdown of carbohydrates in the intestines, resulting in a slower rise in blood sugar after meals.

Type 2 diabetes mellitus, especially in patients who have not achieved adequate glycemic control with metformin alone.

Management of hyperglycemia in patients with type 2 diabetes who require additional glycemic control beyond metformin monotherapy.

Metformin enhances insulin sensitivity and reduces hepatic glucose production. Voglibose inhibits alpha-glucosidases in the small intestine, delaying carbohydrate absorption and reducing postprandial hyperglycemia. The combination provides a synergistic effect on blood glucose control.

Store at room temperature (below 30°C). Protect from moisture. Keep out of reach of children.

Generally, Voglibose is initiated at a low dose and gradually titrated upward as needed while maintaining metformin therapy.

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol can increase the risk of lactic acidosis. Limit alcohol intake while on this medication.



While Driving or operating Machinery

Hypoglycemia can impair cognitive function and reaction time. Avoid driving or operating machinery if experiencing symptoms of hypoglycemia.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Consult your doctor immediately if pregnancy occurs.



Children

Not typically used in children. Consult your doctor before use.



Kidney

Use with caution in patients with kidney impairment, as the risk of lactic acidosis is increased.



Liver

Use with caution in patients with liver impairment.
