Febuxostat

Treatment of hyperuricemia (high uric acid levels) in patients with gout.

Reduction in the frequency of gout flares.

Ibaxit Xr 40mg Tab (Febuxostat) is a selective non-purine xanthine oxidase inhibitor. It works by reducing the production of uric acid in the body, thereby lowering serum uric acid levels and reducing gout flares.

Store at room temperature (20-25°C). Protect from moisture. Keep out of reach of children.

The recommended starting dose is 80 mg once daily.

The dose may be increased to 120 mg once daily based on individual response and uric acid levels. This should be done under the guidance of a physician.

Always take Febuxostat as prescribed by your doctor. Do not alter the dose or stop taking it without consulting your physician.

Severe allergic reactions (rare but serious)

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol consumption may increase the risk of liver damage. Discuss alcohol use with your doctor.



While Driving or operating Machinery

Febuxostat may cause dizziness or drowsiness in some individuals. Avoid driving or operating machinery if affected.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Febuxostat is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Consult your doctor.



Children

The safety and effectiveness of Febuxostat in children have not been established.



Kidney

Dose adjustment may be necessary for patients with impaired kidney function.



Liver

Regular monitoring of liver function is recommended, particularly in patients with pre-existing liver disease.
