Hyston Sr 10mg Tab (Norethisterone) works primarily by suppressing the release of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) from the hypothalamus. This in turn reduces the production of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH) by the pituitary gland, which then leads to decreased ovarian stimulation and reduced endometrial growth. In high doses, it also directly affects the endometrium, making it less receptive to implantation.
