Heparin

Heparin is a naturally occurring anticoagulant, a type of medication that helps prevent blood clots from forming and growing.It is derived from porcine (pig) intestinal mucosa or bovine (cow) lung tissue.Heparin is available in various formulations, including injectable solutions, pre-filled syringes, and intravenous (IV) bags.

Hepadac 25000iu Inj (Heparin) works by activating antithrombin III, a naturally occurring protein in the blood. Antithrombin III then inhibits the activity of clotting factors like thrombin and factor Xa, which are essential for blood clot formation. This process prevents the formation and growth of blood clots, reducing the risk of life-threatening conditions like stroke, heart attack, and pulmonary embolism.

Heparin should be stored at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture. It should not be frozen. Discard any unused portion after the expiration date.
