Glimepiride

Metformin

A biguanide medication that helps your body use insulin more effectively and reduces glucose production by the liver.

Voglibose

An alpha-glucosidase inhibitor that slows down the breakdown of carbohydrates in your gut, reducing the amount of glucose that enters your bloodstream.

Type 2 diabetes mellitus (noninsulin-dependent diabetes) when diet and exercise alone have not been successful in controlling blood sugar levels.

May be used in combination with other oral diabetes medications or insulin.

This combination medication works by lowering blood sugar levels in three ways:

Store at room temperature, away from heat and moisture. Keep out of reach of children and pets.

Your doctor will determine the appropriate dosage for you, based on your individual needs and response to treatment.

Typically taken once or twice daily with meals.

Do not crush, chew, or break the tablets. Swallow them whole with a glass of water.

Lacctic acidosis (rare but serious): A buildup of lactic acid in the blood, which can lead to fatigue, muscle aches, and breathing difficulty.

Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar): Symptoms include dizziness, sweating, headache, confusion, and weakness.

Gastrointestinal upset: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain.

Skin reactions: Rash, itching, and hives.

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol can increase the risk of hypoglycemia. Avoid excessive alcohol consumption while taking this medication.



While Driving or operating Machinery

This medication may cause dizziness or hypoglycemia, which can impair your ability to drive or operate machinery. Exercise caution.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

This medication is not recommended for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Consult your doctor for safe alternatives.



Children

This medication is not approved for use in children.



Kidney

This medication may be adjusted for those with kidney problems. Talk to your doctor about any concerns.



Liver
