Glibenclamide

Is the active ingredient.

Type 2 diabetes mellitus (noninsulin-dependent diabetes) when diet and exercise alone are insufficient to control blood glucose levels.

Glybovin 2.5mg Tab (Glibenclamide) stimulates the release of insulin from the beta-cells of the pancreas. It also enhances the sensitivity of peripheral tissues to insulin, thereby improving glucose uptake and utilization.

Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of reach of children. Discard any unused medication after its expiry date.

Dosage is determined by the doctor based on individual needs and response. It is typically started at a low dose and gradually increased.

Glibenclamide is usually taken orally once or twice daily, with the main meal(s).

Never abruptly stop taking glibenclamide without consulting your doctor. Sudden discontinuation can lead to serious complications.

Jaundice (yellowing of the skin and eyes).

Blood disorders: Rare but serious blood abnormalities.

Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar): Symptoms include sweating, trembling, dizziness, confusion, rapid heartbeat, and hunger.

Gastrointestinal disturbances: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or abdominal discomfort.

Allergic reactions: Skin rash, itching, swelling.

Weight gain.

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol can increase the risk of hypoglycemia. Limit alcohol intake while taking glibenclamide.



While Driving or operating Machinery

Hypoglycemia can impair judgment and coordination. Avoid driving or operating machinery if you experience symptoms of low blood sugar.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Glibenclamide is generally not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Consult your doctor for alternative treatment options.



Children

Not typically recommended for children.



Kidney

Dosage adjustment may be necessary for patients with kidney impairment.



Liver
