A sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (sglt2) inhibitor.
A dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (dpp-4) inhibitor.
Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults to improve glycemic control when metformin alone is insufficient.
May be used in combination with other diabetes medications as determined by a physician.
Dapagliflozin works by increasing glucose excretion in the urine. Sitagliptin enhances the body's own incretin hormones, leading to increased insulin release and decreased glucagon secretion, both contributing to improved blood sugar control.
Store at room temperature, below 30°C (86°F), away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.
Dosage should be determined by a healthcare professional based on individual needs and response.
Typically taken once daily, with or without food.
Do not change your dosage without consulting your doctor.
Urinary tract infections.
Genital yeast infections.
Increased urination.
Dehydration.
Ketoacidosis (rare but serious).
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation.
Headache, dizziness.
Allergic reactions (rash, itching, swelling).
Alcohol may increase the risk of hypoglycemia. Moderate alcohol consumption should be discussed with your doctor.
Hypoglycemia can impair judgment and coordination. Avoid driving or operating machinery if experiencing symptoms of low blood sugar.
Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding should be discussed with your doctor as the risks and benefits need to be carefully weighed.
Not indicated for use in children.
Dose adjustment may be necessary in patients with kidney impairment.
No significant dose adjustment is usually needed in patients with mild to moderate liver impairment. Severe liver impairment requires careful monitoring.
