Glipizide

A sulfonylurea drug that helps your pancreas release more insulin, lowering your blood sugar levels.

Metformin

A biguanide drug that reduces the liver's production of glucose and increases your body's sensitivity to insulin.

Type 2 diabetes mellitus when diet and exercise alone are not enough to control blood sugar levels.

Glip Mf Tab (Glipizide + Metformin) work together to lower blood sugar levels by enhancing insulin sensitivity and reducing glucose production in the liver. Glipizide stimulates insulin release from the pancreas, while metformin decreases the liver's production of glucose and increases the uptake of glucose by muscles and tissues.

Store at room temperature, between 15°C and 30°C (59°F and 86°F), away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep the medication in its original container.

The dosage of glipizide and metformin is individualized and depends on your specific needs. Your doctor will determine the best dosage for you.

Typically, the medication is taken twice a day, with or without food. Follow your doctor's instructions carefully.

Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar): Dizziness, headache, sweating, confusion, blurred vision, rapid heartbeat, weakness, hunger.

Gastrointestinal side effects: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain.

Vitamin B12 deficiency.

Lactic acidosis (rare, but serious): Muscle pain, fatigue, breathing difficulty, rapid heartbeat.

Skin reactions: Rash, itching, hives.

Other: Weight gain, fluid retention.

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol can increase the risk of hypoglycemia. Limit alcohol consumption or avoid it completely.



While Driving or Operating Machinery

If you experience hypoglycemia, you may have difficulty driving or operating machinery. Avoid these activities until your blood sugar levels are stable.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

This medication is not recommended for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Consult your doctor about alternative options.



Children

This medication is not typically prescribed for children. It should only be used under the supervision of a doctor.



Kidney

This medication may need to be adjusted for patients with kidney disease.



Liver

This medication may need to be adjusted for patients with liver disease.
