Glimepiride

Glimepiride is the active ingredient in this medication.It belongs to a class of drugs called sulfonylureas.

Glimepiride is used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus.

It helps control blood sugar levels by stimulating the pancreas to release insulin.

Glimp 3 Tab (Glimepiride) works by stimulating the release of insulin from the pancreas. Insulin is a hormone that helps glucose (sugar) enter cells for energy. By increasing insulin production, glimepiride helps lower blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes.

Store glimepiride at room temperature, away from moisture and heat.

The dosage of glimepiride will vary depending on your individual needs and response to treatment.

It is typically taken once daily, with or without food.

Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar): This is the most common side effect of glimepiride.

Other possible side effects include weight gain, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.

Symptoms of hypoglycemia include sweating, dizziness, headache, and confusion.

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol can increase the risk of hypoglycemia. Avoid excessive alcohol consumption.



While Driving or Operating Machinery

Glimepiride can cause dizziness or drowsiness. Avoid driving or operating machinery if you experience these symptoms.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Glimepiride is not recommended for use during pregnancy. It is also not recommended for use during breastfeeding.



Children

Glimepiride is not indicated for use in children.



Kidney

Your doctor may need to adjust your dose if you have kidney problems.



Liver
