This combination drug works in two ways to lower blood sugar. Glipizide increases insulin release from the pancreas, while metformin enhances insulin sensitivity in the body's tissues and reduces hepatic glucose production.
Store at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Keep out of reach of children. Discard any unused medication after the expiration date.

Take the medication as prescribed, usually with meals to minimize gastrointestinal side effects.
Do not crush, chew, or break the tablets unless specifically instructed by your doctor.
Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar): Symptoms include dizziness, sweating, shakiness, and confusion.
Lactic acidosis (rare but serious): Characterized by fatigue, muscle pain, and shortness of breath.
Gastrointestinal upset: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain.

Alcohol can increase the risk of hypoglycemia. Limit alcohol intake while taking this medication.
Hypoglycemia can impair alertness and coordination. Avoid driving or operating machinery if you experience symptoms of low blood sugar.
This medication is generally not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Consult your doctor before use.
