Gentamicin

Sulfate is the active ingredient in most gentamicin formulations. it is an aminoglycoside antibiotic.

Treatment of serious bacterial infections caused by susceptible gramnegative bacteria (e.g., Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Serratia marcescens).

Treatment of certain infections of the skin, bones, respiratory tract, urinary tract, and bloodstream.

May be used in combination with other antibiotics for enhanced efficacy.

Gentaband Inj 30ml (Gentamicin) binds to the 30S ribosomal subunit of bacteria, inhibiting protein synthesis and ultimately leading to bacterial cell death. This is bactericidal action.

Store at room temperature, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Discard any unused portion after the expiration date.

Dosage and frequency are determined by the physician based on the severity of the infection, the patient's weight and kidney function.

Routes of administration include intravenous (IV), intramuscular (IM), and topical applications (creams, ointments).
