Dapagliflozin

A sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (sglt2) inhibitor that helps the kidneys remove excess sugar from the blood through urine.

Glimepiride

A sulfonylurea drug that stimulates the pancreas to release more insulin.

Metformin

A biguanide that improves insulin sensitivity and reduces glucose production by the liver.

Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults when diet and exercise alone are not enough to control blood sugar levels.

Used when other diabetes medications have not been effective or are not tolerated.

This combination medication works through three distinct mechanisms to lower blood glucose levels. Dapagliflozin increases glucose excretion in the urine, glimepiride stimulates insulin release from the pancreas, and metformin enhances insulin sensitivity and reduces hepatic glucose production.

Store at room temperature, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.

Dosage should be determined by a healthcare professional based on individual needs and response to treatment.

Typically taken once or twice daily with meals.

Never adjust dosage without consulting your doctor.

Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar): Symptoms include dizziness, sweating, shakiness, and confusion.

Lactic acidosis (rare but serious): Characterized by fatigue, muscle pain, and difficulty breathing.

Allergic reactions (rash, itching, swelling)

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol can increase the risk of hypoglycemia and lactic acidosis. Limit alcohol intake while taking this medication.



While Driving or operating Machinery

Hypoglycemia can impair judgment and reaction time. Avoid driving or operating machinery if experiencing low blood sugar symptoms.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Use is generally not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Consult your doctor immediately.



Children

Not indicated for use in children.



Kidney

Renal function should be carefully monitored, as it can be affected by all three components. Dosage adjustment might be needed for individuals with impaired kidney function.



Liver

Liver function should be monitored. The use in individuals with severe liver disease is not recommended.
