Glycopyrrolate

Glycopyrrolate is the active ingredient in this medication.It belongs to a class of drugs called anticholinergics.

Treatment of symptoms of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) such as wheezing, shortness of breath, and chest tightness.

Used as a pretreatment medication to reduce saliva and mucus production before certain medical procedures.

Treatment of symptoms associated with Parkinson's disease, such as drooling and muscle rigidity.

Relief of symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, and bloating.

Gcolate 2mg Tab (Glycopyrrolate) works by blocking the action of acetylcholine, a chemical messenger that causes muscles to contract and glands to secrete fluids. By blocking acetylcholine, glycopyrrolate helps to relax the muscles in the airways, reduce mucus production, and reduce saliva production.

Store glycopyrrolate at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Keep it out of reach of children and pets.

The dosage of glycopyrrolate will vary depending on the condition being treated and the individual patient's needs.

It is typically taken by mouth, usually once or twice daily.

Always follow your doctor's instructions carefully.

Do not take more or less glycopyrrolate than prescribed.

Dry mouth

Constipation

Blurred vision

Dizziness

Headache

Difficulty urinating

Increased heart rate

Allergic reactions, such as rash, itching, swelling, or difficulty breathing (rare)

Alcohol Consumption

It is not recommended to consume alcohol while taking glycopyrrolate.



While Driving or operating Machinery

Glycopyrrolate can cause dizziness or blurred vision. Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how glycopyrrolate affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

It is important to talk to your doctor about the risks and benefits of taking glycopyrrolate if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.



Children

Glycopyrrolate is not typically prescribed to children.



Kidney

Patients with kidney problems may need to have their glycopyrrolate dosage adjusted.



Liver

Patients with liver problems may need to have their glycopyrrolate dosage adjusted.
