Gatiquin Hs Eye Drops 5ml (Gatifloxacin) is a type of antibiotic called a fluoroquinolone. It works by killing bacteria that cause infections. It does this by interfering with the bacteria's ability to produce essential proteins, which are needed for their survival.

Store gatifloxacin at room temperature, away from light and moisture. Keep it out of reach of children.

The dose of gatifloxacin will depend on the type of infection you have and your overall health. Your doctor will determine the right dose for you.

Gatifloxacin is usually taken by mouth with a glass of water. It can be taken with or without food.

Do not stop taking gatifloxacin without talking to your doctor, even if you feel better.

Take gatifloxacin for the full length of time prescribed, even if you feel better. Stopping early can lead to the infection returning.

Alcohol Consumption

Drinking alcohol while taking gatifloxacin can increase the risk of side effects.



While Driving or Operating Machinery

Gatifloxacin can cause dizziness and drowsiness. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Gatifloxacin should not be used during pregnancy unless the benefits outweigh the risks. It is not known whether gatifloxacin passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breastfeeding while taking this medication.



Children

Gatifloxacin is not recommended for children.



Kidney

If you have kidney problems, your doctor may need to adjust your dose of gatifloxacin.



Liver

If you have liver problems, your doctor may need to adjust your dose of gatifloxacin.
