Bimatoprost

A prostaglandin analog that lowers eye pressure by increasing the outflow of aqueous humor.

Timolol Maleate

A beta-blocker that lowers eye pressure by reducing the production of aqueous humor.

Ganfort Drops 3ml (Bimatoprost + Timolol Maleate) work together to reduce eye pressure in two ways: Bimatoprost increases the outflow of aqueous humor, the fluid that fills the eye, while Timolol Maleate decreases the production of this fluid. This combined action helps to lower eye pressure and prevent damage to the optic nerve, which can lead to vision loss.

Store the medication at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and heat. Do not freeze. Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use. Discard any unused medication after the expiration date.

The typical dosage is one drop in the affected eye(s) once daily, in the evening.

Follow your doctor's instructions carefully.

Do not use more or less than prescribed.

Wash your hands thoroughly before and after using the medication.

Tilt your head back and gently pull down the lower eyelid to create a pouch.

Place one drop in the pouch, being careful not to touch the tip of the bottle to your eye or any other surface.

Close your eye gently and press lightly on the inside corner of your eye for about one minute to prevent the medication from draining out.

If you are using more than one eye medication, wait at least 5 minutes between drops.

Avoid excessive alcohol consumption as it may increase the risk of certain side effects.



While Driving or operating Machinery

This medication may cause blurred vision. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

This medication may not be safe for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Consult your doctor before using this medication if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.



Children

The safety and effectiveness of this medication in children have not been established.



Kidney

This medication should be used with caution in patients with kidney problems.



Liver

This medication should be used with caution in patients with liver problems.
