Glimepiride

A sulfonylurea drug that helps your pancreas produce more insulin.

Metformin

A biguanide drug that lowers glucose production in the liver and improves your body's response to insulin.

Type 2 diabetes mellitus (noninsulin-dependent diabetes) when diet and exercise alone are not enough to control blood sugar levels.

Galega G4 Tab (Glimepiride + Metformin) work together to control blood sugar levels. Glimepiride stimulates insulin release from the pancreas, while Metformin reduces glucose production by the liver and improves insulin sensitivity in peripheral tissues.

Store at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Keep out of reach of children.

The dosage of Glimepiride and Metformin is individualized and will be determined by your doctor based on your blood sugar levels and overall health.

Typically, the medication is taken orally with meals, usually once or twice daily.

Follow your doctor's instructions carefully and do not change your dosage without consulting them.

Serious side effects: Lactic acidosis (a rare but serious condition that can be fatal), liver problems, vitamin B12 deficiency, and allergic reactions.

Common side effects: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach upset, weight loss, headache, dizziness, and low blood sugar (hypoglycemia).

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol can lower blood sugar levels and increase the risk of hypoglycemia. Limit alcohol intake or avoid it altogether while taking this medication.



While Driving or Operating Machinery

Hypoglycemia can cause dizziness, drowsiness, and impaired concentration. Avoid driving or operating machinery if you experience these symptoms.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Glimepiride and Metformin are not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.



Children

This medication is not approved for use in children.



Kidney

Kidney disease can affect the elimination of metformin. Your doctor may need to adjust your dosage.



Liver

Liver disease can affect the metabolism of both Glimepiride and Metformin. Your doctor may need to monitor your liver function.
