Fortwin Inj (Pentazocine) is a mixed opioid agonist-antagonist. It binds to opioid receptors in the central nervous system, altering pain perception and transmission. It's partial agonist activity at mu-opioid receptors and antagonist activity at kappa-opioid receptors contributes to its analgesic effects and lower risk of respiratory depression compared to pure opioid agonists, although this is still a risk.
