A statin medication that lowers ldl cholesterol ('bad' cholesterol) and triglycerides.
A fibrate medication that lowers triglycerides and raises hdl cholesterol ('good' cholesterol).
Mixed dyslipidemia (high levels of cholesterol and triglycerides) that is not adequately controlled with statin therapy alone.
To reduce the risk of cardiovascular events (such as heart attack and stroke) in patients with high cholesterol and triglyceride levels and other risk factors.
Atorvastatin inhibits HMG-CoA reductase, an enzyme involved in cholesterol synthesis. Fenofibric acid activates peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-alpha (PPAR-α), which regulates lipid metabolism, leading to decreased triglyceride production and increased HDL cholesterol.
Store at room temperature (20-25°C) in a dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
Dosage should be determined by a physician based on individual needs and response.
Typically taken once daily with or without food.
Do not crush or chew the tablets; swallow them whole.
Muscle aches (myalgia), muscle weakness, and rarely, rhabdomyolysis (muscle breakdown).
Gastrointestinal issues such as nausea, diarrhea, constipation, abdominal pain.
Elevated liver enzymes.
Headache, dizziness.
Allergic reactions (rash, itching, swelling).
Increased risk of gallstones.
Moderate alcohol consumption should be discussed with your doctor. Excessive alcohol intake can increase liver damage risk.
May cause dizziness or drowsiness in some individuals. Avoid driving or operating machinery if affected.
Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Consult your doctor immediately if you become pregnant while taking this medication.
Not recommended for use in children.
Use with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment may be needed.
Use with caution in patients with liver disease. Regular liver function tests are recommended.
