Febuxostat

Is the active ingredient.

Treatment of hyperuricemia associated with gout in adult patients intolerant of or unresponsive to xanthine oxidase inhibitors such as allopurinol.

Febutaz 20mg Tab (Febuxostat) is a non-purine selective inhibitor of xanthine oxidase, an enzyme involved in the production of uric acid. By inhibiting xanthine oxidase, febuxostat reduces uric acid production, leading to a decrease in serum uric acid levels.

Store at room temperature (20°C to 25°C), away from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.

The recommended starting dose is 80 mg once daily.

Dosage may be adjusted by the physician based on individual response and uric acid levels. Maximum dose is 120mg once daily.

Take with or without food.

Alcohol consumption may increase the risk of liver problems. Consult your doctor.



While Driving or operating Machinery

Febuxostat may cause dizziness or drowsiness. Avoid driving or operating machinery if affected.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Febuxostat is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless the potential benefits outweigh the risks. Consult your doctor.



Children

Safety and efficacy in children have not been established.



Kidney

Dosage adjustment may be necessary for patients with moderate to severe kidney impairment. Consult your doctor.



Liver

Dosage adjustment or discontinuation may be necessary for patients with liver impairment. Regular monitoring of liver function is essential.
