It's part of combination therapy, not a standalone treatment.

Evirenz 200mg Tab (Efavirenz) is a non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NNRTI). It works by blocking the action of reverse transcriptase, an enzyme HIV needs to reproduce. By inhibiting this enzyme, efavirenz prevents the virus from making copies of itself, thus slowing the progression of HIV infection.

Store at room temperature, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children. Discard any unused medication according to your pharmacist's or doctor's instructions.

Dosage varies greatly depending on individual factors and other medications. Always follow your doctor's instructions.

Typically taken once daily, orally with or without food.

Do not stop taking the medication without consulting your doctor.

While Driving or operating Machinery

May cause dizziness or drowsiness, affecting the ability to drive or operate machinery. Avoid until you know how it affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Efavirenz can harm a developing fetus. It's generally not recommended during pregnancy. It's also present in breast milk and should be discussed with a physician before breastfeeding.



Children

Use in children is based on individual assessment by a physician.



Kidney

Kidney impairment may require dosage adjustments. Your doctor will assess this.



Liver

Liver function tests are usually monitored. Efavirenz can cause liver problems; if you notice unusual symptoms consult your doctor immediately.
