Levothyroxine

Levothyroxine sodium is the primary active ingredient. It's a synthetic form of thyroxine (T4), a hormone naturally produced by the thyroid gland.Inactive ingredients vary depending on the brand and formulation (tablet, capsule, solution). Hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid): This is the most common reason for prescribing levothyroxine.

Goiter (enlarged thyroid gland) when caused by iodine deficiency.

Thyroid cancer after surgery or radioactive iodine treatment.

Myxedema coma (a lifethreatening complication of severe hypothyroidism).

Congenital hypothyroidism (present at birth).

Euthyroid 25 Tab (Levothyroxine) replaces the missing or insufficient thyroid hormone. It binds to receptors in various tissues throughout the body, regulating metabolism, growth, and development. This helps restore normal thyroid function and alleviate symptoms of hypothyroidism.

Store at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use if the medication is expired or shows signs of damage.

Dosage is determined by your doctor based on your individual needs, age, and overall health. It's usually taken once daily, on an empty stomach, at least 30-60 minutes before breakfast.

Do not crush, chew, or break tablets unless specifically instructed by your doctor. Some formulations are available as liquids or capsules.

Less common but serious side effects: Chest pain, rapid heartbeat, shortness of breath, allergic reactions (rash, itching, swelling).

Levothyroxine may cause nervousness or tremors in some individuals. If experiencing these side effects, avoid driving or operating machinery until they subside.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Levothyroxine is generally safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding, but careful monitoring of thyroid hormone levels is crucial. Consult your doctor.



Children

Dosage is adjusted based on the child's age and weight. Careful monitoring is essential.



Kidney

Generally, kidney function does not significantly affect levothyroxine metabolism.
