Escitalopram increases serotonin levels in the brain by inhibiting its reuptake, improving mood and reducing anxiety. Etizolam enhances the effects of GABA, a neurotransmitter that inhibits neuronal excitability, leading to a calming effect. The combination aims to address both the depressive and anxiety components of the condition.

Medication should be taken as directed by the physician, typically once daily with or without food.

Gradual tapering is necessary when discontinuing this medication to minimize withdrawal symptoms.

Withdrawal symptoms upon abrupt cessation (anxiety, irritability, dizziness, nausea, sensory disturbances).

Alcohol Consumption

Should be avoided or severely limited due to increased risk of drowsiness, impaired coordination, and respiratory depression.



While Driving or operating Machinery

Avoid operating heavy machinery or driving until effects of the medication are known. Drowsiness and impaired coordination can significantly impact abilities.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding is generally not recommended unless the potential benefits clearly outweigh the risks. Consult a physician immediately.



Children

Not typically prescribed for children. Use should be strictly under the guidance of a pediatric psychiatrist.



Kidney

Dosage adjustments may be necessary in patients with impaired kidney function.



Liver

Dosage adjustments may be necessary in patients with impaired liver function.
