Esomeprazole is the active ingredient in this medication.It belongs to a class of drugs known as proton pump inhibitors (PPIs).
Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), including erosive esophagitis and longterm maintenance of healed erosive esophagitis.
Treatment of heartburn and other symptoms of GERD.
Treatment of ZollingerEllison syndrome.
Prevention of stress ulcers in critically ill patients.
Treatment of Helicobacter pylori infection in combination with antibiotics.
Esodin 40mg Inj (Esomeprazole) works by blocking the production of acid in the stomach. It does this by inhibiting the enzyme known as the proton pump, which is responsible for the final step in acid production.
Store esomeprazole at room temperature, away from light and moisture.
The dosage of esomeprazole will vary depending on the condition being treated and the individual patient's needs.
It is usually taken once a day, before eating.
The tablets should be swallowed whole with a glass of water.
Do not crush or chew the tablets.
It is important to take esomeprazole exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
