Telmisartan

High blood pressure (hypertension)

To reduce the risk of stroke in people with high blood pressure and left ventricular hypertrophy (thickening of the heart muscle)

To protect the kidneys in people with high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes.

This medicine is a combination of two drugs: amlodipine and telmisartan. Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker, which works by relaxing blood vessels and allowing blood to flow more easily through them. Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), which works by blocking the effects of a hormone called angiotensin II, which causes blood vessels to narrow. By working together, these medications lower blood pressure and reduce the risk of cardiovascular events.

Store the medicine in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep it out of reach of children and pets. Dispose of expired or unused medication properly.

The dose of this medicine will be determined by your doctor based on your individual needs and medical history.

It is usually taken once daily, with or without food.

Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet.

It is important to take the medicine regularly as prescribed by your doctor, even if you feel well.

Do not stop taking this medicine without talking to your doctor first.

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember, unless it is almost time for your next dose. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.

It is advisable to avoid alcohol while taking this medicine, as it may increase the risk of side effects.



While Driving or operating Machinery

This medicine may cause dizziness or fatigue, so you should avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medicine affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

This medicine is not recommended for pregnant women. If you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, talk to your doctor about the risks and benefits of taking this medicine. This medicine may pass into breast milk. If you are breastfeeding, talk to your doctor about the risks and benefits of taking this medicine.



Children

This medicine is not approved for use in children.



Kidney

This medicine should be used with caution in people with kidney problems. Your doctor may need to adjust your dose.



Liver

This medicine should be used with caution in people with liver problems. Your doctor may need to adjust your dose.
