Treatment of acute coronary syndromes (ACS) in patients with unstable angina or nonST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI).
Eptiflo 2mg Inj (Eptifibatide) works by blocking the binding of fibrinogen and other adhesive proteins to the glycoprotein IIb/IIIa receptors on platelets. This prevents platelet aggregation and the formation of blood clots, which can help to prevent heart attacks and strokes.
Eptifibatide should be stored at room temperature, between 15°C and 30°C (59°F and 86°F). Protect from light and moisture. Do not freeze.
The dosage of eptifibatide is determined by your doctor based on your individual needs.
It is typically administered as a bolus injection followed by a continuous infusion.
The medication is usually given through a vein (intravenously).
Bleeding: The most common side effect of eptifibatide is bleeding, which can occur at the injection site or internally.
Headache.
Nausea.
Vomiting.
Diarrhea.
Rash.
Itching.
Fever.
Avoid alcohol consumption while taking eptifibatide, as it can increase the risk of bleeding.
Eptifibatide may cause dizziness or drowsiness. Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how this medication affects you.
Eptifibatide should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed. It is unknown if eptifibatide passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor about the risks and benefits.
Eptifibatide is not recommended for use in children.
Eptifibatide is primarily eliminated by the kidneys. Your doctor may adjust the dosage if you have kidney problems.
The effect of liver disease on eptifibatide metabolism is unknown.
