Eplerenone is a medication used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension).

It is also used to protect the kidneys in patients with heart failure who have high blood pressure.

Eplecard 25mg Tab (Eplerenone) is a selective aldosterone antagonist. It works by blocking the effects of aldosterone, a hormone that helps regulate blood pressure and fluid balance. By blocking aldosterone, eplerenone helps to reduce blood pressure and prevent fluid retention.

Store eplerenone at room temperature, between 15°C and 30°C (59°F and 86°F), away from moisture and light.

The dosage of eplerenone will vary depending on your individual needs and medical condition.

Eplerenone is typically taken once a day, with or without food.

It is important to take eplerenone exactly as prescribed by your doctor.

Headache

Muscle cramps

Increased potassium levels in the blood

High potassium levels in the blood (hyperkalemia)

While Driving or operating Machinery

Eplerenone may cause dizziness or drowsiness. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Eplerenone is not recommended for use during pregnancy unless the potential benefit outweighs the risk to the fetus. It is not known whether eplerenone passes into breast milk. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor before breastfeeding.



Children

The safety and effectiveness of eplerenone in children have not been established.



Kidney

Eplerenone may need to be adjusted in people with kidney problems. Your doctor may monitor your kidney function while taking eplerenone.



Liver

Eplerenone may need to be adjusted in people with liver problems. Your doctor may monitor your liver function while taking eplerenone.
