Carboprost

Carboprost is the active ingredient in Carboprost drug formulations.It is a synthetic prostaglandin analog.Carboprost formulations may contain other inactive ingredients, which can vary depending on the specific product.

Carboprost is primarily used to induce labor in women who are pregnant at term.

It can also be used to control postpartum hemorrhage.

In some cases, it may be used to terminate an ectopic pregnancy.

Endoprost 125mcg /0.5ml Inj (Carboprost) works by stimulating uterine contractions, similar to the natural hormone prostaglandin E2. It binds to receptors in the uterus, leading to increased muscle activity and ultimately, delivery of the baby or control of bleeding.

Carboprost formulations should be stored at room temperature, away from light and moisture.

Dosage and administration of Carboprost vary depending on the medical condition being treated and individual patient needs.

It is typically administered intravenously (directly into a vein) or intramuscularly (into a muscle) by a healthcare professional.

The duration of treatment is also determined by the physician.

More serious side effects may include uterine rupture, excessive bleeding, and bronchospasm.

The most common side effects of Carboprost include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, fever, chills, and headache.

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol consumption is generally discouraged while using Carboprost.



While Driving or Operating Machinery

Carboprost can cause dizziness or drowsiness, so driving or operating machinery should be avoided.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Carboprost is indicated for use during pregnancy to induce labor or control postpartum hemorrhage. However, it is not recommended for use during breastfeeding as it can pass into breast milk and may harm the infant.



Children

Carboprost is not indicated for use in children.



Kidney

Carboprost is generally safe for patients with kidney disease, but the dosage may need to be adjusted.



Liver

Patients with liver disease may be more sensitive to the effects of Carboprost and may need to have their dosage adjusted.
