Ambrisentan is the active ingredient in the medication.It belongs to a class of drugs known as endothelin receptor antagonists.
Ambrisentan is prescribed for the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) in adults.
It helps to improve exercise capacity and reduce the risk of death from PAH.
Endobloc 10mg Tab (Ambrisentan) works by blocking the effects of endothelin, a substance that constricts blood vessels and causes high blood pressure in the lungs. By blocking endothelin, ambrisentan helps to relax and widen the blood vessels in the lungs, making it easier for the heart to pump blood.
Store ambrisentan tablets at room temperature, between 20°C and 25°C (68°F and 77°F).
Protect from moisture and light.
Keep ambrisentan out of the reach of children and pets.
The usual starting dose of ambrisentan is 5 mg once daily.
Your doctor may adjust your dose based on your response to treatment.
Take ambrisentan tablets with a full glass of water.
You can take ambrisentan with or without food.
Do not stop taking ambrisentan without talking to your doctor.
Common side effects of ambrisentan include: headache, dizziness, flushing, nasal congestion, and edema (swelling).
Serious side effects of ambrisentan can occur, including: liver problems, low blood pressure, and heart problems.
Avoid alcohol while taking ambrisentan, as it can increase the risk of side effects.
Ambrisentan may cause dizziness or drowsiness. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you.
Ambrisentan is not recommended for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Talk to your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.
Ambrisentan is not approved for use in children.
If you have kidney problems, your doctor may need to adjust your dose of ambrisentan.
Ambrisentan can cause liver problems. Your doctor may need to monitor your liver function while you are taking this medication.
