Enalapril

An ace inhibitor that relaxes blood vessels, lowering blood pressure.

Hydrochlorothiazide

A thiazide diuretic that increases urine production, reducing blood volume and blood pressure.

Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure)

Treatment of heart failure (when used in conjunction with other medications)

Enalapril blocks the angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE), preventing the formation of angiotensin II, a potent vasoconstrictor. This leads to vasodilation and reduced blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide increases the excretion of sodium and water from the body, reducing blood volume and further lowering blood pressure. The combined effect of both medications provides a more potent and sustained reduction in blood pressure than either drug alone.

Store at room temperature, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.

Dosage should be determined by a physician based on individual needs and response to treatment.

Do not abruptly stop taking this medication; consult your doctor for proper discontinuation.

Take the medication as directed by your doctor, usually once or twice daily.

Swallow the tablets whole with water; do not crush or chew.

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol can increase the risk of low blood pressure and dizziness. Limit alcohol intake.



While Driving or operating Machinery

May cause dizziness or lightheadedness; avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless the benefits outweigh the risks. Consult your doctor immediately.



Children

Safety and effectiveness in children have not been fully established.



Kidney

Caution is advised in patients with impaired kidney function; dosage adjustments may be necessary.



Liver

Caution is advised in patients with impaired liver function; dosage adjustments may be necessary.
