Filgrastim

Is a synthetic form of a naturally occurring protein called granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (g-csf).

Treatment of neutropenia (low white blood cell count) in patients with cancer undergoing chemotherapy.

Mobilization of peripheral blood stem cells (PBSCs) for collection and transplantation.

Treatment of severe congenital neutropenia (SCN), a rare genetic disorder.

Treatment of neutropenia in patients with bone marrow failure.

Treatment of neutropenia in patients receiving myeloablative therapy before bone marrow transplantation.

Emgrast 300mg Inj 1ml (Filgrastim) works by stimulating the production of neutrophils, a type of white blood cell that helps fight infection, in the bone marrow.

Filgrastim should be stored in the refrigerator at 2°C to 8°C (36°F to 46°F). Do not freeze. Protect from light.

The dosage of filgrastim is determined by your doctor and depends on your condition and response to treatment.

Filgrastim is usually injected under the skin (subcutaneously) or into a vein (intravenously).

Your doctor will instruct you on how to administer the medication.

Alcohol Consumption

It is generally advised to avoid alcohol while taking filgrastim, as it can potentially worsen side effects or interact with the medication.



While Driving or operating Machinery

Filgrastim may cause fatigue, headache, or dizziness. Therefore, it's best to avoid driving or operating machinery if you experience these side effects.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

The use of filgrastim during pregnancy is not recommended unless the potential benefits outweigh the risks to the fetus. Consult your doctor for guidance. It's unknown if filgrastim passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor regarding breastfeeding while taking filgrastim.



Children

Filgrastim is generally safe for children, but dosage adjustments may be necessary.



Kidney
