Enalapril

Enalapril is the active ingredient in this medication.It belongs to a class of drugs called angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors.

High blood pressure (hypertension)

Elpril 2.5mg Tab (Enalapril) works by relaxing blood vessels, which lowers blood pressure and makes it easier for your heart to pump blood. It does this by blocking the action of an enzyme called angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE). ACE is involved in the production of a substance that narrows blood vessels.

Store enalapril at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Keep it in its original container.

The dose of enalapril will vary depending on your condition and how your body responds to the medication.

Your doctor will determine the appropriate dosage and frequency for you.

It is typically taken once or twice daily.

It can be taken with or without food.

High potassium levels in the blood

Angioedema (swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat)

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol can increase the risk of low blood pressure. It's best to limit or avoid alcohol while taking enalapril.



While Driving or operating Machinery

Enalapril can cause dizziness, so it's important to be cautious when driving or operating machinery until you know how the medication affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Enalapril is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. It can cause harm to the developing fetus or baby.



Children

Enalapril is not typically recommended for children unless under the guidance of a specialist.



Kidney

Enalapril is not recommended for people with severe kidney disease. It may need to be used with caution in individuals with mild to moderate kidney disease.



Liver

Enalapril is not recommended for people with severe liver disease. It may need to be used with caution in individuals with mild to moderate liver disease.
