Racecadotril

Treatment of acute diarrhea in adults and children over 3 months of age.

May be used to reduce the duration and severity of diarrhea episodes.

Editor Sachet (Racecadotril) is a selective inhibitor of enkephalinase, an enzyme that breaks down enkephalins. Enkephalins are natural pain-relieving substances in the body that also help regulate gut motility. By inhibiting enkephalinase, racecadotril increases the levels of enkephalins in the gut, which helps reduce diarrhea by slowing down the movement of the intestines.

Store at room temperature, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.

The dosage of racecadotril varies depending on age and severity of diarrhea.

Adults: 100 mg three times daily.

Children over 3 months: 1 mg per kg body weight three times daily.

The medication is typically taken with food or after meals.

Children

Not recommended for children under 3 months of age.



Kidney

No significant problems reported with kidney function.



Liver

May cause liver problems in rare cases. Consult your doctor if you experience any signs of liver problems.
