Edaravone

Is the active ingredient in the medication.

Edaravone is currently approved by the FDA for the treatment of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig's disease.

It may be used to slow the progression of ALS but does not cure the disease.

It's important to note that edaravone is not a treatment for other neurological conditions.

Edaravone should be stored at room temperature, between 68°F and 77°F (20°C and 25°C).

The usual starting dose of edaravone is 60 mg given intravenously over 60 minutes once a day.

It is not known if edaravone is safe for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Consult with your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding before taking this medication.



Children

Edaravone is not approved for use in children. It is not recommended for children.



Kidney

Edaravone may be cleared from the body through the kidneys. Patients with kidney disease may require dose adjustments.



Liver

Edaravone may be cleared from the body through the liver. Patients with liver disease may require dose adjustments.
