It achieves this by selectively inhibiting phosphodiesterase type IV (PDE4), an enzyme that breaks down cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP). cAMP is a messenger molecule that relaxes smooth muscle, and by inhibiting its breakdown, doxofylline increases cAMP levels, leading to bronchodilation.

Store doxofylline at room temperature, away from heat and moisture. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
