Dolteus 2.5mg Tab (Haloperidol) is a butyrophenone neuroleptic (antipsychotic) that works by blocking dopamine D2 receptors in the brain. This action helps reduce psychotic symptoms such as hallucinations, delusions, and disorganized thinking.

Store at room temperature (68-77°F or 20-25°C) away from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children. Discard any unused medication after the expiration date.

Dosage is determined by a doctor based on individual needs and response to treatment.

Haloperidol is available in various forms (tablets, oral solution, injection) for different routes of administration.

Never change your dosage without consulting your doctor.

Extrapyramidal symptoms (EPS) such as muscle stiffness, tremors, restlessness (akathisia), and tardive dyskinesia (involuntary movements).

Orthostatic hypotension (low blood pressure upon standing).

Neuroleptic malignant syndrome (NMS) - a rare but potentially life-threatening condition.

Sedation and drowsiness.

Alcohol Consumption

Avoid alcohol consumption as it can increase the sedative effects of haloperidol.



While Driving or operating Machinery

Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how haloperidol affects you, as it can cause drowsiness and dizziness.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant. Haloperidol may pass into breast milk and could affect the nursing infant.



Children

Haloperidol is used cautiously in children, and dosage is adjusted according to weight and response.



Kidney & Liver

Haloperidol dosage may need adjustment in patients with impaired kidney or liver function.
