Docetaxel

Docetaxel is the active ingredient in this medication.It is a chemotherapy drug classified as a taxane.

Docetaxel is used to treat various types of cancer, including:

Head and neck cancer

Docetec 20mg Injection (Docetaxel) works by interfering with the growth and division of cancer cells. It does this by preventing the formation of microtubules, which are essential for cell division.

Store docetaxel at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets. Do not flush unused medication down the toilet.

The dosage of docetaxel will vary depending on your individual health condition, the type of cancer being treated, and other factors.

It is typically given intravenously (into a vein) by a healthcare professional.

Common side effects of docetaxel include:

Nausea and vomiting

Hair loss (alopecia)

Low blood cell count (neutropenia, anemia)

Fatigue

Diarrhea

Mouth sores

Skin rash

Fluid retention

Nail changes

Peripheral neuropathy (numbness or tingling in the hands and feet)

Serious side effects can occur. Contact your healthcare provider immediately if you experience any unusual symptoms.

Alcohol Consumption

It is generally advised to avoid alcohol consumption while taking docetaxel. Alcohol can worsen some side effects, such as nausea and fatigue.



While Driving or Operating Machinery

Docetaxel can cause fatigue and other side effects that may impair your ability to drive or operate machinery. Avoid doing these activities if you experience any such symptoms.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Docetaxel is harmful to an unborn baby. It is not recommended for pregnant women. It is also not recommended for breastfeeding women.



Children
