Dexchlorpheniramine Maleate

Dexchlorpheniramine maleate is the active ingredient in this medication.It is an antihistamine that belongs to a class of drugs called ethanolamines.It works by blocking the effects of histamine, a chemical that is released by the body during allergic reactions.

Diominic Sr Tab (Dexchlorpheniramine Maleate) works by blocking the action of histamine, a chemical that is released by the body during allergic reactions. Histamine causes many of the symptoms of allergies, such as sneezing, runny nose, and itchy eyes. By blocking histamine, dexchlorpheniramine maleate helps to relieve these symptoms.

Store at room temperature, between 15°C and 30°C (59°F and 86°F), away from heat, light, and moisture. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use if the seal is broken or missing.

The dosage of dexchlorpheniramine maleate will vary depending on your age, weight, and the severity of your symptoms. Always follow the instructions of your doctor or pharmacist.

It is usually taken by mouth, with or without food.

Do not take more than the recommended dose or take it for longer than prescribed.

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for your next dose. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol may increase the drowsiness caused by dexchlorpheniramine maleate. Avoid alcohol while taking this medication.



While Driving or operating Machinery

Dexchlorpheniramine maleate can cause drowsiness and dizziness, which may impair your ability to drive or operate machinery. Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how this medication affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

It is not known if dexchlorpheniramine maleate is safe to take during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Talk to your doctor before taking this medication if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.



Children

Dexchlorpheniramine maleate is not recommended for children under 6 years of age.



Kidney

People with kidney problems may need to take a lower dose of dexchlorpheniramine maleate.



Liver

People with liver problems may need to take a lower dose of dexchlorpheniramine maleate.
