Loperamide

An antidiarrheal medication that works by slowing down the movement of the intestines.

Metronidazole

An antibiotic that fights bacteria and some parasites.

Treatment of diarrhea caused by bacterial infections.

May be used for traveler's diarrhea.

May be prescribed for certain types of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).

Loperamide reduces bowel motility, which slows down the passage of stool. Metronidazole kills bacteria by interfering with their DNA synthesis.

Store at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Keep out of reach of children.

Follow your doctor's instructions carefully.

The usual dose for adults is 2 tablets (4mg loperamide + 375mg metronidazole) taken three times a day.

Do not exceed the recommended dose.

Take with or without food.

Alcohol Consumption

Avoid alcohol while taking this medication.



While Driving or Operating Machinery

May cause dizziness, so avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Talk to your doctor before taking this medication if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.



Children

This medication is not recommended for children unless prescribed by a doctor.



Kidney

May need dose adjustment for people with kidney problems.



Liver

May need dose adjustment for people with liver problems.
