Dapsone 25mg Tab (Dapsone) inhibits bacterial dihydropteroate synthase, an enzyme crucial for folic acid synthesis in bacteria. By disrupting folic acid production, it interferes with bacterial growth and reproduction, particularly in Mycobacterium leprae (the causative agent of leprosy). Its mechanism in dermatitis herpetiformis is less fully understood but involves anti-inflammatory effects.
